Love is a Battlefield

73 degrees on a Saturday morning in January?! We'll take it! We've been itching to get out of the house, moving, exploring, and spending time together as family. This morning there was no excuse to stay at home...

One super cool thing about living in the South that you just don't get growing up in California is history...old, old history. Where we live now there is history all around us, and one of our favorite things to do is hike the battlefields nearby. The land is GORGEOUS, and the stories it tells, rich. So today we took a road trip to Ninety Six, South Carolina, home to a pretty neat Revolutionary War Historical Site. And for the record, it really is the hubby who cares about the history...I'm more about the fresh air and scenery...it's the best of both worlds :) And the kids love it.

I love to see the kids run wild and free in the wide open space, exploring, and playing, and taking in the fresh air.

The best part is just being together...I'm a lucky lady to have these four.

And my one and only son...his arms still wrap around my legs for a hug.
One day I will miss having to look down to see this handsome face.

So after our awesome hike at the battlefield, we stopped in downtown Ninety Six and hit up a local coffee shop for a treat...

Hot cocoa for Cole...

A strawberry smoothie for Jade :)

And Ivy decided to wake up and join us :)

It was the perfect Saturday with the ones I love most :)
